I had such a fun time capturing the Hochstetler family at Dawson Butte Open Space just outside of Castle Rock, Colorado late this Spring. I was a little bummed since as soon as I drove South from Denver and through the town of Castle Rock I noticed a brown haze of smoke in the air. Even though we didn’t get a great golden-hour sun for some super pretty backlit shots because of all the smoke in the air (darn Colorado wildfires), we still ended up with such a gorgeous set of photos for this Castle Rock family photography session.
I met Liz through Instagram, I had followed her fitness journey for a long time and one day she posted a story of her boys and I realized she too, lived in CO…and super close-by! I was dying to meet her and capture some images of her beautiful family of four, so I reached out and we started setting up a Spring family photography session in Castle Rock.
We started our session out in front of the tall pine trees and ended playing and running in the big field with the view in the background of Dawson Butte. What a pretty spot for a family photography session. I had so much fun capturing Liz and her sweet family this Spring.
Check out some of my favorites from this sweet little family session below.
