I had the honor of capturing a motherhood session for Kayla a few years ago when she was tandem nursing her two sweet babes, Corbin and Raelynn. Kayla reached out to me this Summer looking for a Denver Family Photographer with availability. I was so excited to get to capture a little glimpse of her beautiful family once again. I couldn’t believe how much her babies had grown. They sure do grow extra-quick when you only see them once a year or so.

We had originally planned their family photography session near Woodland Park, but her kiddos came down sick. We decided to reschedule. Let me tell you though, I am not mad about our reschedule location. Echo Lake is just over an hour drive from Denver; outside of the little town of Idaho Springs and it is an absolutely stunning backdrop for some family photos.

It has been such a rainy Summer here in Colorado, so of course it rained on us about halfway through the session. We all sat in our cars and waited it out. About 15 minutes later, the rain stopped and the most beautiful rainbow graced us with it’s presence. We were all so glad that we didn’t leave when the rain started!

We started by the Lake with the beautiful snow-capped mountain backdrop. Corbin and Raelynn joined their mom and dad in taking their shoes off and braving a wade in the icy-cold Echo Lake water which made for some beautiful candid shots. As golden hour boasted it’s beautiful warm light, I got a few shots of them amongst the evergreens while Corbin and Raelynn played with mom and dad.
